  Our Mum has had the privilege of staying at Coombrae for the past six weeks. From the time she, my brother and I first visited Coombrae I was impressed with the Eden Philosophy and how this is 'lived' by all of the staff we encountered. Since then I have come to experience that the Eden Philosophy is embodied at Coombrae and is an atmosphere into which I have entered whenever visiting Mum; or in speaking with senior staff by phone. I have also had the opportunity to experience the kind warmth of this atmosphere in the Rata unit, a secure dementia facility, linked with Coombrae rest-home.
  
  My experience as the eldest daughter and eventually EPoA for our Mum during this time has been a significant learning curve that has been supported wisdom, kindness, humour, compassion and clarity of all the staff at Coombrae, both senior and auxiliary.
  
  I work as a health professional in the care of vulnerable people and I would happily refer anyone's beloved 'elder' to Coombrae or the Rata unit.
